Flexcell - Back Protectors

Flexcell in Black is a back protector for young skiers and snowboarders who are starting to ride harder terrain. It is slim and ergonomically shaped, and it is built around Salomon's Flexcell 4D pad, certified to EN 1621-2 level 1.

The pad follows the spine and flexes with the body instead of locking the torso, so a young rider can rotate freely through a turn and still have coverage over the spine in a backward fall. The material is perforated right through, which lets air reach the back and moves heat out on a day with plenty of laps. The shoulder straps and the waist belt adjust separately, so the vest can be pulled in exactly where the child wants it and stays in place rather than riding up under the jacket. The waist strap closes with Velcro and can be reset with gloves on. The rest of the vest is stretch mesh in fully recycled material that is light and breathable. The pad lifts out completely, so the vest itself can go in the wash after a season.
