The Salomon Hermitage Beanie in Deep Black is a hat for winter days on skis, on the trail and in town. It weighs 110 grams and is knitted from a soft acrylic blend with elastane.

The knit is 94% acrylic, 5% polyamide and 1% elastane. Acrylic makes up the bulk and holds warmth, the polyamide adds strength to the yarn, and the elastane lets the hat shape itself to your head without gripping. The surface stays soft exactly where hats usually scratch, across the forehead and behind the ears. At 110 grams it packs down small enough to live in a shell jacket pocket until the wind picks up on the lift or on the walk back through the woods. Salomon recommends hand washing at 30 degrees inside a wash bag and drying the hat flat. It should not go in a tumble dryer, under an iron or to a dry cleaner, and the knit will hold its shape season after season.
