Insuloft Tech - Midlayer

Insulated warmth for the stops between climbs is what the Scott Shorts M's Insuloft Tech delivers. It combines an ultralight 15D outer fabric with DUROloft ECO insulation.

The colour is black. DUROloft ECO is a synthetic fill built from hydrophobic fibres arranged to mimic the structure of down. The fibres trap warm air in small pockets, so the warmth-to-weight ratio is high, but unlike down they do not soak up moisture and collapse. That difference matters when you are standing in wind and spindrift waiting for the rest of the group. Fill and lining are 100 percent recycled polyester, the outer shell is polyamide, and stretch side panels in 95 percent recycled polyester with 5 percent elastane let you keep striding. The shorts pack into their own zipped pocket, so they take almost no room in a pack. The water-repellent finish is PFC-free. Weight is around 400 grams and the cut is athletic.
